Essentialism

Cutting the fat, an effective way to improve your life. Improve your performance at work and at home.

What is essentialism? To me, it’s living a life where you focus on the essentials. What are the essentials? Reading, writing, good friends, good work, leisure time. What are the non-essentials? Social media, email, TV, bad friends. If we’re honest with ourselves, we probably spend a lot more time on the non-essential stuff than we would like.

We all talk about wanting to enjoy our work, read more, create more, spend more time enjoying life. Instead, we waste precious time on social media, opening and closing emails without ever responding, TV, and friends who do the same.

Essentially, essentialism can be applied to all areas of your life and improve it. Take your diet for example, it’s probably filled with non-essential foods that if you cut out would make you a lot healthier. Imagine if all you eat was rice, chicken, and veggies for a week. No alcohol, no ice cream, no milk and cookies. Not only would you save a ton of money but you would feel better.

I’m not sayin cut out alcohol or ice cream. Those things are great and can be enjoyed completely, without feeling guilty. I’m just making a point that essentialism can be an amazing tool in improving your life.
